What is ProfileMate?
ProfileMate is a software that uses the Instagram platform to scrape data for its customers. You can scrape everything from account data (followers, following, post count, biography, etc) as well as it’s business information (email, phone, company name, location, etc).
This allows you to extract public data from Instagram in an automated manner to help with your marketing effort whether it cold email marketing, creating lookalike audiences in Facebook, or gather information about users on Instagram.
How does ProfileMate work?
Once you have gotten started with ProfileMate, you’ll be given access to the back office. Inside here, you’ll be given the option to download the Chrome Extension. Once installed, open the extension and you will be prompted to log in to an Instagram account you wish to use (it’s recommended you start a blank account). Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be directed to the Chrome Extension dashboard.
Now you’re inside the Chrome dashboard, you’ll have the options of Step 1 or Step 2. The first step is where you’ll find targeted users based on either:
- Followers or Following
- Hashtags
- Locations
- Likers or Commenters of Post
Collecting Data
Next you want to go back to your ProfileMate dashboard, go to Step 2 Analyse Users and paste in the usernames to the fill box and press Submit. Next you’ll be prompted to give the list a name, call it something you’ll remember ie: targeting_username. The next step will ask what information you want to collect, one thing to note is the more things you try and collect, the longer it’ll take. Once you’ve chosen your selection, press next and the software will start working its magic.
One thing to keep in mind when using this software is realising it’s a chrome extension, this means your browser needs to be open and computer needs to be on while running it. If you wish to set it up, let it run and turn off your computer, I’d recommend getting a VPS like Greencloud which is a cloud computer you can login to from any device.
